Welcome to the Beauty Dialogues!

The Beauty Dialogues is here to illuminate the beauty of this world – not just the beauty of form, but also the patterns of essential wholeness that go beyond the visible.

Wholeness dissolves the illusion that life and work are separate so sometimes I write about design and the language of online communications, but it’s always about what, to me, life looks like through a beauty-lens.

  1. Hi Amy – I just discovered your site in Rob Breszny’s latest e-mail. I also live in Richmond, and, because I no longer believe in coincidences, I thought I’d drop you a note to say hello. I love Anza Borrego, too, though I haven’t visited in years. Your photos are wonderful. I’d love to dialogue about beauty, oneness, and all of that other juicy stuff. You’re right about the spiritual awakenings happening these days – I feel like I’ve been experiencing one myself. Take care!

  2. Wow! I didn’t know I was in Rob’s email – thanks for letting me know! 🙂 And thanks for writing… tell me more about your thoughts on beauty, if you have the impulse to engage a bit more with me here.

  3. Hi Amy,
I’ve also come to your site thru Rob’s E-mail. I’ve never been able to spend a long time in one sitting doing research, etc, at the computer, but I have just spent the last several hours “walking” around here, taking in the sights, smells, inspiring ideas :)—your intention to create an online environment grounded in the natural world is hugely felt, thank you. BEAUTY as an essential quality, not so much unlike water or air, has inspired my work for as long as I can remember. If you get a chance, here’s where some of my work can be seen:

I look forward to visiting again, until just wanting to give thanks, in the form of this poem I wrote, perhaps others will find resonance . . .

    SEEING
    A necessary absence.
    The well of sight—our eyes,
    twin vacancies, light-gathering vessels.

    This mind is a garden
And images grow in the space between things
    Where light gathers:

Upon the surface tension of water against
    Molecules of air, resting hand
    On sleeping thigh,
    Synapse to synapse.

    Here,
    Images spark, burst,
    Spread like wildfire.
    Here.

Thank you so much again! Laurie

  4. Laurie,

Again, Wow! What Beauties hang out on Rob’s list! 🙂

I was stunned by your Temenos leaf paintings, and the little Flash ‘teaser’ for your book. So much joy and light and color in your work … thanks so much for sharing it with us and joining in the beauty dialogues!

I just had a look at your mosaic works! YUM! I want to do that!!!

    Love,

    Amy

  6. Hi Amy,
I have been meaning to write you for a while now. We have many friends in common through Heartland and other venues. I, too, live in the East Bay, across the ‘street’ from Tilden Park.
I have had your blog on my blogroll since my blog’s inception…I love Beauty Dialogues. When I log on to your blog, I can feel myself drop down into this very sacred space you have created. Thank you for all you do to bring more beauty and awareness to this world.
    Julie
